The interior was designed for a young lawyer.
Stair design was the major challenge. At the core and shell stage, stairs were designed in a way leaving no space for a living room with an open kitchen and dining room.
The client’s dream was a large kitchen with a double-doored refrigerator, family-sized dining table, comfortable sofa, pouffe, and TV to be watched with no need for interior shading or darkening. All requirements were met; today, the stairs are a true ornament for the living room and very comfortable.
An inclined wall over the dining room table was another issue: it prevented any aesthetic option of mounting a hanging lamp. The problem was solved by a support arm designed to mirror the lampshade’s shape.
The ceiling above the kitchen space was nearly five metres tall: perfect for a mezzanine with library space.
The upper storey laid in ambush with another challenge: at first sight, the master bathroom space disallowed any thought of a large bath. And yet an unconventional approach made it possible to fit a large comfortable bath, huge sink, lavatory, bidet, and concealed cabinets. The bathroom is illuminated with daylight streaming in through big glass blocks. Special attention was paid to lighting, with no setting left to chance. Many lighting zones were designed, allowing an option to create any mood imaginable.
I selected top-quality finishing materials: a guarantee for the owner to enjoy her apartment for many years to come.
