In 2009, Makro attended the Polagra Fair for the second time with an intention to show products for hotels, restaurants, and cafes:
• A new and more extensive fresh fish and seafood offer: Netful of Fish
• Extensive offer of wines available only at Makro: Treasure Trove of Aromas
• Rioba coffee and accessories: Inspiration for Your Cafe
This was accompanied by the inseparable display of Horeca Select and H-Line industrial brand products.

All promotion of Makro products involves shows and tastings: to that end, “stages” were built for chefs and bartenders. I arranged large printouts with motives of current press advertising campaigns above each stage. Stages were partitioned with the essential Makro gate guests passed to enter the tasting area.
The fish and seafood display was arranged on professional Mapal counters, with ice produced by a unique Follett device placed at the stand. Selected items were deep-frozen in ice, ornamental in themselves. Fresh Makro fruit and vegetables made the display more vivid.
The chefs’ stage was fitted with state-of-the-art catering devices, allowing for top catering standards to be shown and popularised. For viewing comfort, all chef shows were broadcast on a large-screen display.
A full programme of chef, bartender, and barista shows was designed. Art cafe and freestyle shows have always been immensely popular. A professional sound system ensured perfect audio reception in the viewing area without affecting other stands.

A tasting room for eighty and a kitchen serving approximately four hundred meals a day had to be fitted behind the exhibition and show area.
All these technologically complex objectives were reached.
